The 2025 Money in the Bank premium live event is fast approaching, as WWE takes over the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California on June 7. Fans are in anticipation, awaiting to see which man and woman will emerge as the new Money in the Bank winners, almost assuring a world title reign at some point over the next twelve months. The number one bad guy on Monday Night RAW right now, Seth Rollins, will be representing his new faction in the ladder match, vying for his second victory of the briefcase⊠but a win for Rollins is something I believe would be a mistake, and here is why.
The Money In The Bank Should Be Used To Make New Stars
This Concept Should Have Always Been About Elevating Others
- Money in the Bank helped make new stars like Edge and Daniel Bryan.
- MITB felt less special with winners such as Austin Theory and Braun Strowman.
- Someone like Bron Breakker or LA Knight would benefit from holding the briefcase.
Back when Money in the Bank started, the idea of the concept was for those just outside of the main event scene to score a star-making win and secure a guaranteed shot at a world title, propelling someone new to stardom in the process. Not every experiment worked, but the Money in the Bank briefcase helped the likes of Edge, CM Punk, Daniel Bryan, Seth Rollins, and others to break into the upper echelon of the card and remain there. As the years have gone on, former world champions, failed projects, and wrestlers who won the briefcase with the plan for them to lose a cash in, have all got their hands on the prize, lessening its impact and in the process losing the original goal of the concept.

Although the special nature of the concept has been lost over the years with poor choices in winners such as Austin Theory, Baron Corbin, Braun Strowman, John Cena, and others, this doesnât mean that WWE should just give up on trying to make it work. On the WWE roster right now there are names who have either never won a world title or havenât won one for a very long time who would all benefit from getting this boost and push â for instance, the likes of Bron Breakker, Sami Zayn, Carmelo Hayes, Chad Gable, Dominik Mysterio, LA Knight and others would all benefit from winning the menâs briefcase this year. However, there is someone who has emerged as the favorite in recent weeks â newly heel Seth Rollins. I believe that going with him would be a major mistake.
Seth Rollins Winning The Briefcase Would Ruin The Concept
This Would Be A Sign Of The End Times For Money In The Bank
- Seth Rollins should be the last choice to win Money in the Bank.
- Triple H saved Hell in a Cell and the King and Queen of the Ring.
- A report stated that Triple H isnât a fan of Money in the Bank.
Seth Rollins is one of the most established and decorated wrestlers on the present-day WWE roster, and of all time in fact. If there is anyone who desperately does not need the Money in the Bank briefcase, it is undoubtedly him. If WWE were to go with the âsafeâ option of having Rollins win and not have to put the effort into building up a new name, it would be one of the final nails in an already dying concept.

Jesse âThe Bodyâ Ventura is a commentary legend but his lack of knowledge about todayâs WWE only hurts his time on screen.
Triple H has fixed a lot of struggling concepts since becoming the head of creative. For instance, the Survivor Series event is something fans want to see again, weekly TV is more must-see, midcard titles carry more meaning, the sanctity of the Hell in a Cell and Steel Cage matches have been restored, and the King & Queen of the Ring felt like a big deal. Money in the Bank has been a big anomaly within Triple Hâs resurgence of tired concepts, and a Seth Rollins win would confirm even more that the briefcase is dying. It was reported by TC of WrestleVotes on WrestleVotes Radio that Triple H was not a fan of the Money in the Bank concept. This may lead him to giving the briefcase to Seth Rollins as an easy choice, building more cheap heat around the heel instead of actually making an effort to build up someone new.

Seth Rollins Doesnât Need The Briefcase To Be World Champion
Rollins Could Simply Challenge Jey Uso For A Title Shot
- Rollins nearly beat Jey Uso in a title match on Raw a few weeks ago.
- Heâs the top heel on RAW, so he shouldnât have to take a cheap route to a title match.
- The briefcase would get in the way of his current heel run.
One of the biggest issues with a Seth Rollins Money in the Bank win would be the fact that he simply doesnât need it. No one is buying the scenario that Rollins cannot simply just walk up to Jey Uso, challenge him for the World Heavyweight Championship, and win the title amidst shenanigans and cheating â in fact, this nearly happened already on RAW a few weeks ago! Nothing about Rollins winning the briefcase and cheaply beating Jey Uso is exciting, especially as WWE can go about a Rollins title win in a much better and more natural way.

John Cenaâs Latest WWE Match Proves That His Heel Turn Has Been A Creative Failure
As Saturday Nightâs Main Event showed, itâs become very difficult for WWE to sell John Cena as a heel when fans donât want to boo him.
The Money in the Bank contract would simply serve as a distraction, a prop getting in the way of Rollinsâ current trajectory, and it would damage the concept as a whole. This is why I believe Seth Rollins would be one of, if not the absolute worst choice to win the briefcase this year. WWE needs to be very careful with how they approach Money in the Bank in 2025, as some more bad choices of winners could be disastrous.
