Why Fans Should Expect Another WWE To AEW Wrestler Exodus

A few years ago, with fans upset about WWE’s creative direction, many wrestlers started leaving for AEW. Is it about to happen again?

We will assess the chances of each competitor in the men’s Money in the Bank ladder match, ranking the least likely to the most likely winner, and exploring why. Only one can walk out of the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California as the new Mr. Money in the Bank.

Andrade

Andrade Has Zero Chance Of Winning

  • Andrade’s WWE return has been a failure.
  • He’s made no progress since last year’s event.
  • He hasn’t done anything of note for a while on SmackDown.

Andrade returned to WWE a year and a half ago
and he has almost nothing to show for it. Aside from a run as Speed Champion and an unfinished series with Carmelo Hayes, Andrade has been in the lower card, or else not on TV. He will add quality to the men’s Money in the Bank ladder match, but he won’t be winning.

WWE has shown zero signs of giving Andrade anything in WWE for a long time, so he walks into Money in the Bank as the man with the least chance of winning.

Penta

WWE Doesn’t See Penta As A Main Eventer

  • Penta got a decent push at the start of the year after making his debut.
  • He doesn’t seem like a potential world champion in WWE.
  • Penta will be in the tag team division at some point with his brother Rey Fenix.

Penta was on a roll at the start of the year after signing with WWE, but he very much settled into the midcard of WWE, and much like the majority of luchadors in the company, he is unlikely to ever make it to the main event scene in the company.

I’m Worried Mariah May’s Move To WWE Is The Riskiest Move Of Her Career

Mariah May was a top star in AEW, but will she get lost in WWE’s newly revamped women’s division?

There is the slimmest of chances that with WWE’s acquisition of AAA that a luchador is pushed, but we can’t see it being Penta via the Money in the Bank briefcase.

El Grande Americano

It Is Hard To Imagine This Gimmick As A World Champion

  • There is a small change that ‘Americano’ gives the briefcase to ‘Chad Gable’.
  • WWE have never pushed Chad Gable to the main event.
  • He has been heavily featured, but he’s a midcard act.

The El Grande Americano gimmick is very much a comedic act from the midcard of WWE, but more shocking things have happened. There is the slightest chance that WWE goes rogue, having El Grande Americano win the briefcase and cash in on AAA Mega Champion Vikingo, but this is a long shot.

WWE has never seen Chad Gable (the man “allegedly” under the mask) as a potential main eventer, so it would be a shock to see them give him the briefcase in 2025.

LA Knight

WWE’s Last Chance For LA Knight

  • LA Knight has been in contention the last few years for MITB.
  • His popularity still puts him amongst the favorites.
  • He still feels like an outsider, much like most of the field.

LA Knight’s chances are higher than some in this match, but his chances of winning are still pretty slim. However, he has been consistently over in WWE for the last few years, and there are many who would buy him getting a one-off world title run at some point.

Out of all of those in the match, LA Knight just about sneaks into the top three favorites across the field, simply due to the fans’ love for him alone.

2

Solo Sikoa

WWE May Not Have Given Up On Sikoa

  • Triple H pushed Sikoa as a main eventer last year.
  • WWE may still have plans to make something out of him.
  • Sikoa is still a way behind the match’s favorite.

Ever since his failed push as a top heel in the main event scene last year, Solo Sikoa has been very much out of favor in WWE, with him struggling to climb back up the card, especially since he’s been overshadowed by fellow faction member Jacob Fatu.

Roman Reigns Is Still A Terrible WWE Babyface (& I’m Tired Of Pretending He’s Not)

Roman Reigns was an absolutely awful good guy as the Big Dog, but he isn’t much better today as the Tribal Chief.

However, WWE clearly saw something in Sikoa, and they may still. In terms of character, Sikoa does fit the bill of a young heel looking for a cheap way to a world title, which can come via the Money in the Bank briefcase. WWE may try again to make a star out of Sikoa.

Seth Rollins

  • Rollins has won the briefcase before.
  • He is in the midst of a big heel push on WWE Raw.
  • He feels like the most likely briefcase winner this year.

Seth Rollins is already a made man in WWE, working as an established main eventer for over a decade. However, the field for the men’s Money in the Bank this year feels pretty underwhelming with no one except Rollins standing out as a potential winner, especially with him almost guaranteed to be the one to dethrone Jey Uso as World Heavyweight Champion.

There is a chance that the likes of CM Punk screw Rollins out of the match, but Rollins is still the number one favorite for sure, given that WWE have committed a lot behind him in recent months as RAW’s top heel.
