The wrestling world was shocked at the news that veteran and beloved member of the WWE roster, R-Truth, was not having his contract renewed with the company. Along with that came the news that fellow veteran Carlito was on his way out too. Reports from Fightful Select noted the huge shock that came with Truth’s exit due to him being loved backstage and being with the company for so long.

Roman Reigns Is Still A Terrible WWE Babyface (& I’m Tired Of Pretending He’s Not)
Roman Reigns was an absolutely awful good guy as the Big Dog, but he isn’t much better today as the Tribal Chief.
This exit shows that no one is truly safe in WWE, and no matter the joy you bring, the positive influence you have, or how long you’ve been there, you could be the next one out of the door. We will take a look at some of the long-time WWE veterans that could well be next based on these latest events.
Sheamus
Sheamus Has Been Out Of Favor For A Long Time
Date Signed With WWE |
Age |
---|---|
April 2007 |
47 |
Sheamus is a multi-time world champion in WWE, jumping onto the scene on the main roster back in 2009 where he received a quick push to the main event, shockingly winning the WWE Championship from John Cena. He spent the next few years either in the main event or upper midcard, becoming a hugely reliable member of the roster in the process. Over the years, Sheamus could be used as a midcard champion, a solid member of the tag team division, or someone used to put others over, all whilst playing either the role of a babyface or heel, connecting with fans no matter what he did.
Despite a good start to his tenure under Triple H due to his feud with Gunther, Sheamus has been much of an afterthought in WWE. He has seldom picked up wins, has yet to win that elusive Intercontinental Championship, and has missed the majority of WWE’s big events in recent years – even getting snubbed from WrestleMania 41. Triple H doesn’t see Sheamus as a priority, and the older he gets, the less WWE will use him. Sheamus, despite his success and name value, is no longer safe from getting cut in the new age of WWE.
Natalya
Natalya No Longer Has A Place In WWE’s Women’s Division
Date Signed With WWE |
Age |
---|---|
January 2007 |
43 |
Natalya re-signed with WWE in 2024, but that doesn’t mean she is safe by any means, especially with how brutal and random WWE can sometimes be with their releases and cuts. The longest-tenured wrestler on the women’s roster has not had a heavy influence on WWE programming for many years now, and especially not within the Triple H era. Despite her ageless talent and solid foundations as a performer, she is not a part of plans, and that is why we believe she is certainly not safe.

WWE’s Roster Is Older Than Ever, But There’s A Good Reason For That
If you look at WWE’s main event scene, they’re all pushing 40 or more, yet they are fitter and better in the ring than ever.
With WWE bringing up several new names to the main roster such as Giulia, Stephanie Vaquer, Jordynne Grace, and Roxanne Perez, and with many other prospects on the way from NXT, it is becoming crowded on the roster. Natalya might be one of those who makes way for the next era of women’s wrestling in WWE.
Kofi Kingston
Kofi Kingston & The New Day Are Booked Terribly
Date Signed With WWE |
Age |
---|---|
September 2006 |
43 |
Kofi Kingston is one of the most decorated wrestlers in the history of WWE, winning more tag team titles than anybody, on top of several singles accomplishments too. However, Kingston and The New Day as a whole haven’t had the best of luck in the new era of WWE. Even a high-profile heel turn and memorable moment with Big E couldn’t give him and Xavier Woods a proper push, instead of having to wait half a year to get their hands on the World Tag Team Titles, resulting in a pretty lethargic reign in the process.
The New Day don’t feel like stars, nor do they feel like defined veterans of the roster – which is exactly how they should be presented. After the exit of R-Truth, those who came in at a similar time such as Kofi Kingston no longer seem like a guaranteed WWE lifer – a term that is becoming less and less of an accurate term for almost everybody on the roster.
The Miz
The Miz Is Clutching Onto His Role In WWE
Date Signed With WWE |
Age |
---|---|
December 2004 |
44 |
Under the Triple H era in WWE, The Miz has remained a constant factor in the undercard – teaming with R-Truth, working alongside Carmelo Hayes, feuding with The Wyatt Sicks, but it has mostly been in a more comedic role. There is no kidding anybody – The Miz is not likely to win any singles gold in WWE again, and he is becoming less and less of a factor as the years go on. With The Miz not getting any younger and with an influx of names set to be called up from NXT (and those signed from free agency), we expect The Miz to be another veteran who could be let go.

I Can’t Stand How WWE Has Wasted Aleister Black’s Comeback
Aleister Black has been back on SmackDown for over a month, but WWE is already repeating mistakes made with him in the past.
Despite it being unfathomable to see The Miz outside of WWE, recent decisions have proven that no one is safe in TKO’s WWE. You can be the biggest advocate for the company possible, but that doesn’t guarantee a space on the roster.
