Scott D’Amore’s sudden exit from his role as TNA President last year caused a major change in the wrestling world, but he has since kept himself busy running Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling. He also visited the WWE Performance Center last year and has now explained the reason for his visit.
It was previously reported that on November 8, 2024, Scott D’Amore was seen at WWE’s Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. Fans started guessing what it could mean, but it was later explained that he was just taking a tour and having casual talks while there.
While speaking to Cultaholic’s Tom Campbell, Scott D’Amore explained that he had been interested in seeing the Performance Center for years, even before returning to IMPACT in 2017. While in Florida, he took the opportunity to explore WWE’s state-of-the-art training facility and observe how things operated there. He described it as a casual visit where he reconnected with old friends before moving on.
D’Amore also pointed out that while fans speculated about his visit to WWE, there was no similar attention given to his attendance at a Jacksonville Jaguars game during the same trip. He acknowledged that speculation is part of wrestling, but in this case, there was nothing more to the visit than what it appeared to be.
“I was down in Florida, I had looked at going to the Performance Center before I even went back to IMPACT in 2017 and never got a chance to make it when we were chatting then. I was in the area and had the opportunity to go and have a look at the very best training complex that has ever existed in professional wrestling. I was happy and honoured to get a chance to take a look at that and see how they do things there. I don’t think that it’s something that needs to be read into too deep. Somebody in wrestling showed up at a place where they do something in wrestling and chatted with a few old friends and everybody went their separate ways. I also went to a Jacksonville Jaguars game while I was down there, nobody reported that…I get it, people want to speculate. Sometimes there’s just nothing more than what’s on the surface there.”
It is to be noted that Scott D’Amore previously stated that he does not rule out going to WWE or AEW following his TNA Wrestling departure. Right now, Scott D’Amore is focused on his new company, Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling, but we’ll have to wait and see if that will change somewhere down the line.
Scott D’Amore made it clear that his visit to WWE’s Performance Center was nothing more than a casual tour, but do you think his explanation holds up? Was it just a simple visit, or could there be something more going on behind the scenes? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
