Charlotte Flair Responds to Criticism About Constantly Being in the Title Picture

Charlotte Flair is a 14-time women’s champion but fans have been very vocal about her always being in the title picture no matter what. While such complaints continue, Flair has now finally addressed people criticizing her for being in the title picture.

While speaking to WrestleZone, Charlotte Flair addressed people complaining that she’s always in the title picture. Flair said those people don’t see how hard it is to stay at that level. Being in the title picture so much means she’s lost 13 times but still came back 14 times, which shows how much work and pressure it takes to keep going.

Flair explained that any match against her feels like a big deal because she’s so consistent, dedicated, and loves wrestling. She thinks instead of seeing it as a bad thing, people should notice how determined she is to always be on top, even if some fans don’t like it. In the end, fans watch because they want to see their favorite wrestler beat her.

“I think just the pressure of always being in the title picture. Like for me, when I think of the character, you know, everyone’s like, ‘Oh, she’s always in the title picture, she’s always in the title picture.’ But that means she lost 13 times and came back 14 times. And the pressure that it takes to have that intensity—whether, I think when people face Charlotte it’s always like a big match feel—and I really want people to focus on the fact that takes so much consistency and dedication and just the passion I have for the business overall.

I’ve never wavered. Like instead of seeing it as a negative, it’s really more like, man, see the consistency and the determination to always want to be on top, whether people like that or not. But you want to see your fave beat me.

Charlotte Flair also talked about how lucky she’s been to have so many big moments, like being part of the first all-women’s pay-per-view, the first one-night WrestleMania main event, and wrestling with so many different women. Those are things she’s really proud of.

“Also, think about all the chances I’ve had: being part of the first all-women’s pay-per-view, the first one-night WrestleMania main event, and building a strong history with so many different women. That’s something I’m really proud of.”

The last time Charlotte Flair was in the title picture was when she squared off against Tiffany Stratton at WrestleMania 41, where Flair ended up losing. Regardless, Flair believes she has a valid reason to always be in the title picture and that’s unlikely to change anytime soon.
