WWE loves a good romantic couple wrestling angle, from Hulk Hoganâs âlust in his eyesâ during the MegaPowers Explosion storyline to Otis and Mandy Rose poolside in recent years. While some onscreen romances are also offscreen (Randy Savage and Elizabeth or Triple H and Stephanie) many are in kayfabe only. Kane did not really impregnate Lita, and Mark Henry did not really have sexual relations with Mae Young. WWE has learned a romantic couple angle can spice up the entertainment value and add quality depth to their characters.

10 Best Couples In WWE History: How Did Their Story End In WWE?
They are the best couples in WWE history. But do you remember how their love story came to an end in WWE?
If WWE could combine wrestlers from any generation for romantic angles, what would that look like? Would a performer from the Golden Era reach greater heights with a romantic relationship with a present-day performer? Would a New Generation Star be better combined with someone from the Ruthless Aggression Era? Letâs look at 10 of the very best fantasy couples in WWE history.
Toni Storm & Shawn Michaels
A Timeless Rocker Couple
Wrestler |
WWE Era They Performed In |
Toni Storm |
Modern |
Shawn Michaels |
Golden/New Generation/Attitude/Ruthless Aggression |
Toni Stormâs attire in WWE looked like a version of Shawn Michaelsâ attire in the mid 1990s. The two performers have a bit of a late â80s rock (ers) group look and would very much compliment each other in appearance. Both performers have long blonde hair and physiques that they do not mind showing off. The Heartbreak Kid and Timeless Toni would have made an incredible WWE romantic couple. Michaels started off his HBK gimmick with Sensational Sherri in his corner. Just imagine if that was Toni Storm with Michaels. As all storyline couples do, eventually âHBStormâ (couple name) would break up, but could be linked together in WWE history.
Rhea Ripley & Crush
Original Judgment Day
Wrestler |
WWE Era They Performed In |
Rhea Ripley |
Modern |
Crush |
Golden/New Generation |
Crush would wear black and purple and add some face paint to his singles heel run in the New Generation of WWE. Looking back at him now, he looks like the original member of WWEâs Judgment Day. Crush was a dominating figure that stood 6â6 and weighed over 300 pounds. His presence would match well with the Eradicator Rhea Ripley. Few women have ever dominated the squared circle like Ripley. Crush and the Eradicator could be a match made in Heaven. Their couple name of âCRipleyâ also seems like something WWE would play with. Or maybe WWE replaced Damian Priest and Ripley and Crush were the first Terror Twins.
Sensational Sherri & Seth Rollins
Who Would Dress The Most Flamboyant?
Wrestler |
WWE Era They Performed In |
Sensational Sherri |
Golden/New Generation |
Seth Rollins |
Modern |
You would most definitely not find a more eccentrically dressed couple than a combination of Sensational Sherri and Seth Freakin Rollins. Both characters are known for their over-the-top fashion sense. Sherri would help Macho King Randy Savage during the last years of the WWE Golden Era and then team up with her boy toy Shawn Michaels in the New Generation.

10 Things Fans Should Know About Sensational Sherri Martel
Sensational Sherri Martel is a legendary manager and a pioneer for womenâs wrestling. Sheâs a former champion whose career is worth retelling!
Yet, can we imagine a present-day Sherri with Rollins. Sherri could go in the ring, during a time that women didnât really perform inside the squared circle. Sherri in todayâs WWE could reach heights that her character couldnât have imagined in her prime. The couple would also have been incredible if it was Rollins performing in place of the Macho Man. The âSensational Freaksâ would have been a must-see TV.
Isla Dawn & Papa Shango
Supernatural Combination
Wrestler |
WWE Era They Performed In |
Isla Dawn |
Modern |
Papa Shango |
New Generation |
Papa Shango gets a lot of complaints for the way he played the voodoo practioner in the New Generation of WWE. Yet, imagine Shango with a sexy partner like Isla Dawn competing in the modern WWE (or any Generation after 1996). Without the cartoonish restraints of the New Generation of WWE, the voodoo master and the unholy witch could have been a scary yet successful combination. While Shango would go on and find success as the Godfather in the Attitude Era, his voodoo character still had so much to achieve. Dawn was an underrated competitor in the modern WWE, but with Papa Shango by her (dark) side, things could have been much different.
Mandy Rose & Lex Luger
Godâs Greatest Total Package
Wrestler |
WWE Era They Performed In |
Mady Rose |
Modern |
Lex Luger |
New Generation |
If the Greek gods were sculpting professional wrestlers, Mandy Rose and Lex Luger would be their muses. While Luger and Rose would find success as faces in their careers, they would be destined to be a heel couple. Lugerâs âNarcissistâ gimmick would be the perfect outlet for both performers as a romantic couple. Admiring their incredible physiques and being more in love with themselves than each other would be the perfect gimmick. You have to think WWE would play off their names and call them some form of âSexy Mexyâ. Ultimately, their love for self would lead to this coupleâs breakup, which would mean no mirror would be safe.
Alexa Bliss & Andre The Giant
Team Little Big 2.0
Wrestler |
WWE Era They Performed In |
Alexa Bliss |
Modern |
Andre The Giant |
Golden |
The WWE Universe fell in love with Alexa Bliss and Braun Strowman during their Team Little Big storyline in 2018. The drastic physical differences between the 5-foot of fury Alexa Bliss and the Monster Among Men Braun Strowman were eye-catching. Just imagine Andre the Giant, who would dwarf the 6â8 Strowman. The world saw Andre the Giantâs softer side in the movie The Princess Bride and WWE could play into that with his relationship with Alexa. Ultimately, Alexa turning heel and using Andre to do her bidding seems like a plausible storyline. The Goddess would have no limits with her personal giant.
Sol Ruca & Rob Van Dam
Most Flexible Couple
Wrestler |
WWE Era They Performed In |
Sol Ruca |
Modern |
Rob Van Dam |
Attitude/Ruthless Aggression |
Hard to imagine two more laid-back, cool and athletic performers than NXTâs Sol Ruca and WWE Hall of Famer Rob Van Dam. This couple could put on a show inside the ring. Both have movesets that are as impressive as any in any WWE Era. Watching a romantic relationship develop between the two lovable characters would be golden WWE television. RVD and Sol could shoot so many fun vignettes on the beach or in the gym being their naturally hippie characters. In the ring, watching the couple copycat each otherâs movesets like Essa Rios and Lita would entertain a crowd. RVD would assuredly refer to her as his Sol-mate.
Sunny & Jesse The Body Ventura
The Predator Star And AOL Queen
Wrestler |
WWE Era They Performed In |
Sunny |
New Generation/Attitude Era |
Jesse The Body Ventura |
Golden |
It would be impossible to find new superstars with more ability to self-promote than Sunny and Jesse Ventura. Both performers would wear (or not wear) just about anything to help promote their characters and their careers. Venturaâs ability to talk and Sunnyâs ability to walk would make them a powerhouse couple.

Sunny was immensely popular in the mid â90s, but the WWE Hall Of Famer had her share of embarrassing moments during her career.
With their sex appeals and hot takes leading the way this couple could have dominated WWE. Sunny wrapped up in one of Venturaâs boas seems like a missed opportunity. If the two could control their egos, Sunny could have been the first lady of the state of Minnesota or at least WWE (no offense Elizabeth).
Paige & The Undertaker
The Goth Couple
Wrestler |
WWE Era They Performed In |
Paige |
Modern |
Undertaker |
Golden/Attitude/Ruthless Aggression |
The Undertaker had one of the greatest careers in WWE history. He has performed in some of the biggest matches, delivered some of the most amazing moments and truly lived up to the moniker of Phenom of the WWE. Yet, Taker never had an onscreen romance during his WWE career. Taker was raised to his greatest heights during the New Generation of WWE and his character was so defined as evil, the promotion never had him dabble in relationships (minus kidnapping Stephanie McMahon). Yet, adding the sensual and gothic second generation superstar Paige to the Undertakerâs character fits like a glove (probably purple). Paige could bring the sexiness to the darkside as Undertakerâs Queen.
Tiffany Stratton & Randy Savage
Team Tiffy Madness
Wrestler |
WWE Era They Performed In |
Tiffany Stratton |
Modern |
Randy Savage |
Golden/New Generation |
The Macho Man Randy Savage was a ladiesâ man. Savage would have successful onscreen relationships with Miss Elizabeth, Sensational (Scary) Sherri and Gorgeous George. Tiffany Stratton could have been his next relationship. Stratton combines the bombshell appeal of Gorgeous George with unmatched athleticism. Savage teaching Stratton how to properly deliver his Big Elbow could be the flirtatious beginning of a fictitious Hall of Fame couple. Savage and Stratton could have worked together as a heel and a face combination. Team Tiffy Madness would have been the best fantasy WWE couple in the history of the promotion.
