Unused Plans for a New Version of The Fiend Revealed

Bray Wyatt’s passing remains one of the most heartbreaking moments in professional wrestling history, as his undeniable genius truly created lots of memorable storylines, and there are obviously angles that never saw the light of day. In fact, it appears that unused plans for a new version of The Fiend have been revealed.

While speaking to Adrian Hernandez, Karrion Kross revealed he had lots of ideas he wanted to use and hopes he can still do them one day. He had fun working on them and thinks there is still more to explore. Some ideas were made with Bray Wyatt, and he thinks they could still fit into the Wyatt Sicks’ story.

“I had a ton of ideas that I put on the table that I was hoping we could get to. Maybe there’s still time in the future to circle back and explore them. But it was a lot of fun, and I think there’s still a lot of mileage to be explored there. I had tons of ideas with Windham that we wanted to do, and I think I can translate some of them in a way that would complement their story arc as well.”

One idea came from Windham and WWE writer Nick Manfredini. They planned a scene where Kross would sit in a church pew, talking to someone behind a screen, like in horror movies. His face would not be seen, and he would say a monologue. At the end, he would lean forward, and people would see he was wearing The Fiend mask.

“I remember one idea that Windham and a fellow named Nick Manfredini—an incredible writer with WWE—were writing for me. They ran it by me to see if I would like it. At one point, they wrote this thing where I was in, like, a church pew, and it seemed like I was confessing to someone behind the other side of the door, you know, like how you see in horror movies.

You couldn’t see my face, and there was a monologue. I don’t want to say what the monologue was because maybe there’s a way to still use it. But by the end of it, I leaned forward, and Windham and Nick wanted me to have The Fiend mask on. That was the plan”

Another idea was about Bray Wyatt facing a dark part of himself that he did not want to. Kross thought this was a great idea that could still be used. Hollywood FX artist Jason Baker, who made many of Bray’s masks, even suggested giving Kross a symbiote version of The Fiend on his shoulder and arm.

“There was an idea they were coming up with where Windham—or Bray Wyatt—would have to overcome that side of him that he didn’t really want to get near. That was a really cool concept that I thought we could maybe revisit and reformat. Jason Baker, an amazing Hollywood FX artist who did a lot of Bray’s masks, was talking about potentially giving me, like, a symbiote version of The Fiend on my shoulder and up my arm.”

Kross also had new ideas of his own that he believed would be emotional and engaging and he feels these ideas could be used in the future. If the Wyatt Sicks storyline continues, Kross wants to take on the role of a strong villain, one that Bray Wyatt would have wanted to challenge the group. He wants to be the kind of opponent that helps make their story even better.

“And then there was fresh stuff I came up with, too—ideas that would be very emotionally engaging. I’ll put it that way. We can still go back down that road very, very easily. The way I’ve always thought about anything I would do with the Wyatt 6 at this point is to be the villain that Windham would want me to be for them. They need a strong opposition. If we revisit that, that’s what I want to do for them. I want to be the villain they deserve.”

While the Wyatt Sicks are absent right now, they will eventually return, and some of Bray Wyatt’s unrealized ideas may still come to life in WWE’s current storylines. Whether Karrion Kross will be part of that journey remains uncertain, so we’ll have to see if any of these angles will see the light of day.

Do you think WWE should bring these unused ideas to life? Would you like to see Karrion Kross as a villain against the Wyatt Sicks again? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
