The current landscape of WWE has a loaded roster known for competing all over the world and becoming big stars for the top promotion. Quite a few names have had Hall of Fame worthy careers in WWE to become established players for now and many more years. Unfortunately, not everyone is able to get that opportunity to fulfill their potential.

10 Most Successful WWE Stars Who Only Had One Name During Their Careers
Most WWE wrestlers have had more than one ring name during their careers. However, one name was all these successful stars ever needed.
Certain active talents have a lot of talent, but they haven’t been put in the best position to succeed by WWE. Triple H taking over for Vince McMahon has helped a lot of careers, but the names to not get their chance will be featured here. The following promising names on WWE’s current roster have seen creative dropping the ball.
Chad Gable
Still Deserves Better Opportunities

The use of Chad Gable has improved from past years to now with more consistent storylines on television. However, some bad luck has prevented Gable from making the most of his chances to become a major star.

Every WWE Championship Reign Of 2025: Ranked By Quality
It’s still WrestleMania season, but there have already been many championship reigns in WWE & NXT. Let’s break down every title reign by quality.
Gunther’s legendary Intercontinental Championship reign and Sami Zayn being slated to end it as a bigger star caused Gable to miss out on a singles title run. Even the current program against Penta is all about getting the new lucha star over more than helping Gable.
Shayna Baszler
Has Not Matched Her NXT Success

WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship |
Triple H used to strongly believe in Shayna Baszler after he signed her as one of the Four Horsewomen of MMA. Baszler holds a level of credibility that few ladies can match and clearly has a skill set for the athletic side in the ring.
Unfortunately, the main roster run of Baszler has been lackluster since her big debut feud vs Becky Lynch failed. Baszler has had some solid moments, but she’s never been treated like a big star and rather a secondary member of the women’s division.
Joaquin Wilde
Talented Star Is Currently Overlooked

The Latino World Order had a lot more potential when it started and brought back a popular act from the WCW days. Joaquin Wilde has been a part of the act since the return as a talented wrestler, but he struggles to stand out in this role.
TNA pushed Wilde as part of the Bro Mans trio and made him an entertaining obnoxious heel. Another role is needed for Wilde to break out in WWE and have a more lasting impact than being part of a group that is losing more and more momentum.
Scarlett
Should Be More Than Karrion Kross’ Manager
Height |
WWE Tenure |

WWE signed the real-life couple of Karrion Kross and Scarlett after their success in TNA and other smaller promotions. Kross has struggled for years to break out until finally starting to find his groove as his devil’s advocate character over the past year.
Scarlett still serves in a backup role behind Kross and doesn’t do nearly enough talking for her level of charisma. The years before WWE saw Scarlett having a lot of personality and succeeding on her own as a wrestler.
Akira Tozawa
The International Star Is Yet To Be Booked Seriously
Height |
WWE Tenure |
WWE Main Roster Titles |

5’7 |
2016-present |
|
Akira Tozawa has been a great rotation player for WWE to get used in comedic and secondary roles for quite some time. Teams with Chad Gable and Otis or his wacky antics in the now defunct 24/7 Championship division led to his best moments in WWE.
Unfortunately, Tozawa has never shown his full potential like his years in Japan or in the independent promotion PWG. The underrated star used to have classics against names like Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, Ricochet, and other North American stars.
Jade Cargill
It Doesn’t Feel Like WWE Is Protecting Her As Much Anymore

WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship |
WWE made massive headlines to shock the wrestling world when they signed Jade Cargill from AEW. Cargill leaving the promotion that developed her and pushed her with a Goldberg-esqe undefeated streak led to big news of her joining WWE.

It’s never good when a wrestling storyline ending is disappointing. The following storyline endings were the most anti-climactic in wrestling history.
Tag team success has been the only real standout success for Jade in her current home. Time off and a return to feud with Naomi has added some extra juice for Jade. However, Cargill suffering her first loss in WWE to Liv Morgan in a random SmackDown match doesn’t seem like she’s still as protected as before.
Dragon Lee
Lost Lucha Luster To Penta & Fenix
Height |

WWE Speed Championship |
WWE once viewed Dragon Lee as the next big luchador star after his previous success in Ring of Honor, AAA, CMLL, and New Japan. Dragon Lee had incredible performances in NXT and got called up to the main roster to join the Latino World Order.
Rumors of Penta and Rey Fenix joining WWE led to Dragon Lee losing some of his momentum. Dragon Lee has been the Speed Champion on WWE’s social media program, while Penta’s matches and Fenix’s vignettes get the real attention as the new hot luchadors.
Dakota Kai
Remains Underrated Member Of Damage CTRL
Height |

WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship |
The Damage CTRL group has been a strong part of WWE television with Dakota Kai a member of all versions. Fans have taken notice that Kai feels like the most underappreciated member of the group due to a lack of singles opportunities.
Kai had an emotional moment last year on a live stream discussing how badly she wants to finally have a singles chance on a PLE. Unfortunately, injuries and the group dynamic pigeonholed Kai into a tag team role with little attention placed on her as a singles performer.
Pete Dunne
He’s Yet To Get A Big Main Roster Push
Height |

Pete Dunne has been a part of many special WWE things, but he’s yet to hit his potential after getting signed almost a decade ago. NXT and NXT UK have seen Dunne getting major pushes before finally getting called up to the main roster.
Dunne getting renamed Butch and spending team in Sheamus’ faction felt like a step backwards. WWE changed his name back to Pete Dunne, but the technical wrestling master has not had many chances to move up the card in recent memory.
Candice LeRae
She Can’t Get A Major Role In The Women’s Division
Height |
WWE Tenure |
WWE Main Roster Titles |
---|---|---|
5’2 |

Women’s Speed Championship |
Candice LeRae was one of the most respected women in the industry when she was signed by WWE. PWG pushed Candice as the only woman on the roster in matches against top stars like Adam Cole, Kevin Owens, and The Young Bucks.
LeRae joining NXT saw her fitting in and having great matches, but she’s been more limited on the main roster. WWE currently mostly uses Candice in secondary roles partnering with other heels rather than trying to elevate her into a bigger role.
